Dental implants are the only permanent tooth replacement option.
BRSH Dental offers Dental Implants at West Ave in the Upper Kirby/River Oaks area. Inserted directly into the jawbone, dental implants provide an incredibly reliable foundation for dental restorations such as crowns. Supported by bone, implants are capable of restoring complete strength to your bite and beauty to your smile. Additional benefits of dental implants include their singular ability among tooth replacement options to prevent bone loss and structural changes to your jaw.
Dental implants have been used successfully for the last 50 years. Implants can be the longest-lasting treatment for replacing a missing tooth with the benefit of maintaining bone. Implants are also useful for supporting dentures and bridges to correct more extensive tooth loss. Implants are prosthetic replacements for missing or severely damaged teeth. This treatment option delivers an excellent level of patient satisfaction. Tooth implants provide a natural-looking appearance and long-lasting function. They are becoming the gold standard for smile makeovers and dental restoration when missing teeth are involved. If you have lost one or more teeth to fractures, gum disease or tooth decay, this procedure could finally give you back your beautiful smile.
THE DENTAL IMPLANTS PROCESS
Tooth implants rely on osseo-integration to create a stable connection between a titanium implant and the jawbone. During osseo-integration, the bone grows into direct contact with the implant, holding it firmly in place. The process begins with a full oral exam, medical history and x-rays information is used to determine if you are a good candidate for dental implants as well as what size and shape of implant to use. Phase 1- the titanium implant is drilled in your jawbone and given an integration/healing period of 3-6 months. Phase 2- small metal post is attached to the implant, called an abutment. Phase 3- A custom fabricated crown that looks like your natural tooth is fitted and cemented.
The integration process can take 3 to 6 months. This time allows your implant to undergo the process of osseointegration to become a permanent part of your smile. While the process can take some time, the final results are well worth the wait.
